Although I believe I would make a fine trustee there are projects I can return to now that I will not be one. This web site being one of those projects.

Went to all the schools in Zone6 this morning to get pictures of them for this web site.

Below is the decision concerning the cancelling of French Immersion at Rideau HS from the Minutes of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board of February 28 and March 8 2005 page 73


d) Discontinuation of the French Immersion Program at Rideau High School

(Motion by Trustee Funiciello, seconded by Trustee Spice)

THAT there be no further intake to the French Immersion program at Rideau High School.

THAT all grade 8 students in Rideau High School’s attendance area who wish to enroll in French Immersion for September 2005 be given the option of attending either Gloucester High School, or the high school that offers French Immersion and/or Extended French that is closest in proximity to the student’s place of residence.

THAT the two grade 9 students currently in the French Immersion program be given the option of attending either Gloucester High School effective September 2005, or the high school that offers French Immersion and/or Extended French that is closest in proximity to the student’s place of residence.

THAT the remainder of French Immersion students at Rideau High School be permitted to gain their required French Immersion credits at Rideau High School during the 2005- 2006 school year and be given the option of attending either to Gloucester High School, or the high school that offers French Immersion and/or Extended French that is closest in proximity to the student’s place of residence, if necessary, for any remaining French Immersion credits effective September 2006.

The motion was carried.
